In the fall of 2000, Dyer Baptist Church initiated a supplemental education opportunity for secondary homeschool students. The program was called Plum Creek Learning Association and included subjects like speech, music, logic, apologetics, zoology, shop, cooking, and physical education. PCLA was a wonderful opportunity for the students, but God had more plans for the education ministry on the banks of Plum Creek.
A special open meeting was held on November 6, 2004, to discuss how a Christian school at Dyer Baptist might work and to determine how many families would be interested.
In that meeting, the following four reasons were given for considering starting a school:

On February 12, 2006, the members of Dyer Baptist Church voted by a strong majority to start the Plum Creek Christian Preschool in the fall of that year. The deacons, Pastor Atkinson, and Pastor Lee would serve as the school board.
On January 28, 2007, the church voted again and demonstrated overwhelming support for the board’s recommendation to begin adding elementary grades to the preschool. From that time until now, PCCA has been adding grades and creating new classroom almost continually. God has faithfully provided faculty members for each expansion, and the students have continued to come from over towns on both sides of the state line.
In the summer of 2014, an architect was hired and the planning stages of the new building were underway for the eight acres Dyer Baptist Church already owned
across the street from the current facilities.
The building project began in 2015, the tenth year of the school’s existence. Each year, the South Building is almost filled to capacity with children. Though no one can predict the future, the faithful God who has led in the past is worthy of trust for the future. May Jesus Christ be praised for all that He has done and will do to enable children to receive a Christian education at Plum Creek!
Summer 2017 saw the remodeling of the North Wing in the North building to make three good sized classrooms for the growing secondary grades, and in 2018 the West Wing was completely remodeled to accomodate the larger K3 classes.
